One question is that will this product be updated to support windows vista with no extra cost or something to that effect?


Now is it possiable to have the custom theme to start up automatically with out launching a program from windows or do I have to launch it like a exe file or something?


Now does this also effect programs to like my visual studio has a backround of white but if I have a dark theme is it possible to has VS change without manually changing it, like have DesktopX change it?

Compatibility will depend on whether the developers are successful incorporating the programs into the new OS. I believe they have already determined that WindowBlinds can be coded to work with the Vista beta release. As far as updated versions go, you will be entitled to all updates during the subscription period (1 year terms, with renewals available annually for Object Desktop).

WindowBlinds will load automatically with Windows once a skin is applied, and will continue to do so until you unload it.

IconPackager themes (once applied) will remain applied until you restore the default icons via the IconPackager configuration panel.

DesktopX can be set to load at startup by selecting that option in the DesktopX properties (configuration) dialog.

CursorXP will load automatically (once a theme is applied), until you disable it in "Mouse Properties" dialog.

These are the core "skin applying" programs of Object Desktop, though there are quite a few other programs included (IconX, ObjectBar, LaunchPad, etc.).

There are also programs for creating skins and themes such as "SkinStudio" and "IconDeveloper" which act as any normal program - loading when invoked for use, and closing when shutdown.

You can exclude any program while using WindowBlinds, which results in the program running with a "Windows Classic" shell (note - the titlebars may take on the skin coloring). This should keep any default appearances used by the individual program during use. Alternatively, SkinStudio allows you to assign background colors for the application windows, but I believe these are global settings.

DesktopX would generally not change the application backgrounds, due to it being a program that uses objects and scripts to create alternative desktops and widgets. I am not a DesktopX expert, so there is much more to the program than I can explain.

You mean have DesktopX run at startup? yes

it may be possible with scripts (you'll have to wait for an answer from somebody that can actually write one) but DTX doesn't affect programs that way. That would be WindowBlinds.

ok I just installed the demo and when trying to change back to the windows xp theme it goes back but the toolbars also changed but not back to the XP defualt, why I even when into the toolbar and select the xp toolbar but still giving me old win (like 2000) toolbar


I also tried to unload window blinds but that seemed to do nothing.

Try applying the "Windows Classic" using WB config panel > unload WB > reboot computer > right-click desktop > Properties > Themes tab > select Windows XP in the Theme drop-down list > "Apply".

If this does not apply the Luna theme, reboot and try again in the Display Properties > Themes tab.

open WB configure and on the left is a 'system information' click it and copy/paste that info here.
