Some antivirus programs slow down the applying process longer then others do. But that was just based on my experieince testing out different AV Apps...

I am having a similar problem. Any time I try to apply a theme it just says "please wait" forver. I left my computer for over 30 minutes and nothing changes. My machine has 2GB of ram and and a dual core 64 bit proc. So I doubt system specs are an issue.

However it's isn't locking up my computer. If I hit CTRL ALT DLT and kill screen.exe and explorer.exe and then start them back up agian everything returns to normal...

I have no clue what's going on here...It's really frustrating and has rendered windows blinds pretty much useless.

When you kill screen.exe, has the new theme been applied?

I have had the same stalling for awhile now. A simple click on the desktop forces the skin to load.Happens when applying from Windowblinds, display properties, and Skinstudio. It almost always works but sometimes a reboot is necessary.

FYI, Clicking on the desktop should make screen.exe close.  But it should also auto close if its taken more than 30 seconds to change the theme.
