Firefox 1.5 and WB 5

Hi people,

I'm trying out the new version (trial before I buy) of WB 5, looks good , runs good but there is a problem running it with Firefox 1.5.

When WB 5 is loaded it makes my firefox browser screen jump and it continues to make it jump 60-70% of the time.  If I go to another web page from the jumping one , it may jump it may not.  I have tried all the fixes that Firefox has for this problem, and the only other course of action is another program conflict.  Whenever I shut WB 5 down the problem is gone completely.

So is there a fix for this, or is it even a known problem with a work-around ?

I like WB 5 but I can't use it if I can't surf the web correctly.

Thx.

For some reason

no exact fix, has been an ongoing problem with FF since before 1.5 - could be tied to the FF skin used or the the FF extensions installed

The fault lies with Firefox I believe, and it can be avoided by adding something to the bookmarks toolbar I seem to recall.

Just a thought, I constantly use FF 1.5 it's my preference. But, I have the Black Japan theme installed for FF, and I also run WB5 and I have had no problems at all, I've been using it since FF1.5 has come out.

Are you use FF themes? Just a thought...

It does seem to be a problem with certain FF themes. Try a few and see if the problem goes away for you. I always use FF 1.5 and have no issues at all (except with an occasional FF theme).

I'm using the default theme for FF, really annoying to say the least.  Will try another theme and report back.

I often come across this problem too and my personal solution is "minimize the jumping FF window and then maximize/restore" --

Well changing the default skin in FF solves the problems so far, (strange a third party one works better than the default!).

Thx people

After much work with all stardock products, since 2000, I have discovered it has to do with the JAVA version installed. Most windows machines allow either a microsoft VM or a JAVA VM. I have switched to a JAVA VM and updated the abosulte latest JAVA from sun and the jumping has stopped. I can still cause a jump if I play a java game or run a java applet, like games.yahoo.com, so I tend to disable most stardock items before I play a pure JAVA game.

I am using the default theme and installed the JAVA using the XPI from sun.
