Tabbed Desktop

has anyone though to...

I've searched around, normally I put more effort in, but knowing how wierd my request is, it could take days. So I thought I would post here, where the experts are at.

Basically I use object dock for 1 reason. Less clutter on my desktop, but I thought to take it to the next level. I was wondering, if we can have the taskbar in the dock, why can't I have my desktop as a tab? So when I click on the tab it showes the things on my desktop. I couldn't seem to figure out a way to trick it into doing it, and it's 4am here. I just hope there is someone who's already figured it out, if so I hope they see this soon, if no one has ever wanted to do this, maybe it will spark enough interest for someone to figure out how to do it.

Thanks in advance.

It's an extra click or two but you can create a new shortcut to the desktop as a menu.

Right click an empty part of the tab.
Add entry | New Shortcut
In the Link dropdown, choose Desktop
Check the box "Show as menu"

Hide your desktop icons however you like.
Depending on how many icons are on your desktop having a dynamic tab could get very ugly, very quickly.

I guess I need to make it a bit clearer. Here's what I want.

Tabbed Dock - Click tab, showes desktop icons.

To my knowledge you can't use tabbed docks with a normal dock. Setting a normal dock as a menu kind of defeats the purpose.
