I need help badly

please...

Ok so here goes. Lately, i have installed Winamp in my PC. You know how winamp works right. It can "PLAY" folders containing music files. at first i thought this was ok. so i didn't mind it. Then when i started to open folders, my player "ENQUEUEs" that folder. i thought it was a minor error but it persisted with EVERY folder i open. So as a last resort, i opened folder option to change the Default program that runs the folder when clicked. So when i chose folder and customized it, i was surprised to see that the option called OPEN was gone and all that was there are ENQUEUE, BOOKMARK, FIND, etc... but not open. Figured maybe i could "add" the option OPEN so its what i did with explorer.exe as the program. It went well at first but i started noticing cascading effects. First, when i open a folder inside a folder, it opens in another window. I know my settings and i specified OPEN FOLDER IN THE SAME WINDOW in the folder options. I know right on that there is something wrong. Second, all my Logonxp files, when clicked, do not automatically creates a folder an uzips the content in it. In fact, nothing happens. I tried loading logonxp files using Logonstudio but to no avail. Worse, i can't export my works. I tried unistalling and reinstalling but the problem still persist Third, wba files also have that problem. i can not even export skins using Skin Studio. I figured maybe i could just remove my entry in the Folder Options for FOLDERS file but all the buttons including DELETE are disabled except ADD. Now what do i do. I uninstalled Winamp too but nothing happens. I tried System Restore but to no avail. Help me please. I just want my PC to work the way it originally does. Now i guess my tweaking did great trouble in my personal computing. Is there a way that i could bring back the manipulation of my FOLDERS to default. How about tweaking the registry? would that help? but how. Please i need help desperately. ANYONE.

I haven't had this exact same problem, but I have had problems with Winamp Agent in the past.

Just a suggestion....before you do this back up your registry. Go to regedit and do a find on Winamp. Delete all the references you come across and reboot. I can't say as this will work because I had done a complete reinstall by the time I got a response on my problem. That did work. I never use the agent anymore and the problem has never returned.

You might want to hold out for a while and see if Gary (Yrag) has any input.

I had the same problem. I kind of gave up on it. Then someone here poted a link to a task list glossary. Going through it, I came across a reference to the WinAMP Agent, that basically said I didn't need it in my strat-up or running so I disabled it and have had no more problems.

Here is the link, by the way. It's a handy reference for all your tasks.Link
