Is IconPackager SD Software?

Is IconPackager SD Software?

I'm Confused

I sent an email to SD Support about IconPackager3. I am unable to use the Subpackage feature to make an IP to upload as one file. I have posted in 3 different threads and still no answer. The reason I post and emailed Stardock is that IP3 came with this feature and no instructions on how it works. The first response said they do not support third party software. I thought they misunderstood, because I made a reference to the APOGEE ICON PACK that utilizes the new subpackage feature. So, I emailed them back and tried to explain.

The email reply I get is as follows...

Hello,

You have been clear. I completely understand your question. I am unable to assist you. I'm here for technical support (this means I assist in problems with the software).

As I said in my previous email, "I'd be more than happy to help, but we unfortunately do not support anything created by third parties." By "anything created" this includes themes, icon packages, etc. For creating your own themes, please consult either the forums or the Stardock irc chat (Chat button in Stardock Central). Many of the fans, authors and developers of themes and Stardock software hang out there.

I'm not trying to be argumentative here, I'm just stating the facts of the situation.

My problem is with the software and the lack of info or help with it's features. Isn't IconPackager SD software? What am I missing here?

I am NOT trying to start a big thing...but goshdarnit...I wanna use this feature to make an IconPack and all I get is more and more confused. If SD has not supplied the info on how to use this..how can I get it from another user. I have posted in 3 threads and not even Paul who used/uses it for APOGEE is clear on how to use it.

Help please. How can I create a theme when the info on how to do it with the features supplied in the software is not available?.. which party do I need to get help from?

Po'-your icons are so cute that I would download them one at a time if that is how you decided to upload them! WOW--you're good! I can't wait to see them all.

Thanks. I haven't felt this much pressure to perform since I was 18 and lied and told this 34yo woman my nickname was the 'Love Doctor'.

They are soon on the way in plain brown wrappers
Just need to be sure I got this subpack thing figured out. It's hard to do on my PC
because it recognizes them even when I don't have 'em in IP format.

Is your reminiscing about the good old days what gave you the idea for the icon package or are you a romantic at heart??

I, for one, am awaiting their arrival impatiently.

I give up. I tweaked them, packaged them, made the subpacks, tested them, deleted everything and installed the fresh pack with subpacks...works beautifully....but unable to upload the pack as one. I put it all in reg winzip folder.(.ip, install info, and subpack folder with .subpackage file) and it won't upload. Getting 'timed out', 'server has changed' and all kinds of run error messages while trying to upload the zip.

So I made two seperate packs and uploaded them. I surrender. I look forward to the day this feature gets updated and it can be done the way it was or is intended.
