Beta 81 bugs

1. In Research Complete screen thwe rotating frame of the weapons technology accompanied information that I just researched xenofarming.

2. United Planets Council screen appeared without a pop-up warning one turn before.

3. After I was awarded a habitable planet and found it I discovered that none of 8 useable tiles were used. No starbase, no starport - nothing. Yet Planet was building collony ship and after 15 turns I was able to lounch it, still without building starport or anything else at that planet. Once I lounchwed my colony ship, the planet conntinued to build next colony ship, this time indicating that it will need 32 weeks for that.

4. After about 45 minutes or one hour of playing without any problems the game froze and Windows task manager indicated that the game was using 98-99% of CPU resources and 358 472 KB of my memory.

Also, although I am not sure that this is a bug,I started the game surounded with 3 minor races that again started shooting out series of colony ships (4 to 5) that were unconcerned with range limits (at list ones that very much cocerned me), Later in the game I found that their choice of colonized planets was rather funny. They colonized bunch of 6 or 7 quality planets while ignoring 11 or even 12 quality planets in their own home star star system. Also their minor races are now able to build star bases. That was not the case (if I remember well0 in GalCivI.
And home planets of all (in my case at least 3) minor races seem to be quality 15.

I just discovered that I'm running Beta 80 and not Beta 81. And on stardock it says that I have installed Beta 0.90[b].012 and that Beta 0.81.006 is available? What's the deal?

All right. I upgraded from what stardok said was Beta 0.90[b].012 to Beta 0.81.006 and after 11.89 MB file was downloaded and extraxted and GC II was updated Stardock listed that 0.90[b].012 is now available. I started downloading althoug it look strange that this new upgrade file has the same size of 11.89 MB. Shortly after the downloading of the list of the files started I got the message that downloading and upgrading was finished although no files were realy downloaded, and that now installed version is 0.90[b].012 . But this time with no other available versions. When I tried to start the game it imediately crashed, pretyy much in the sam way as when I had problems with my NVIDIA card. What is going on?

Game runs much too quick on an Athlon X2 (spinning ships and planets more or less random, can scroll off the map in no time).

Pretty much makes the game unplayable. See previous report here: https://www.galciv2.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=274&AID=95579

I saw a post that the new GalCiv2 0.81.006 release is the same as Beta 5 Dec. 15th. What is the difference between 0.80a[b].002 and 0.81.006? Can I safely upgrade to 0.81.006 and continue my game created on 0.80a[b].002?

hmmm...GC2 is a complex game.
What comps are you guys running? (curios, im getting a new comp soon maybe before GC2 goes gold or around)
Minor races are only different from major ones only by:
The name itself, they are generally weaker than major ones, and that minor civs are random majors are not random and are always the same civ (you may meet them early However...)

Whatever you do, don't get a dualcore or even multiple CPUs. There are very few developers who seem to be able to write proper code for those.
