Minimizing windows

I downloaded desktopX a while ago and really like it. My only real problem so far is that whenever I try to start an application (mainly games) they are automatically minimized as soon as they start up. No matter what I try, I cant restore them from the taskbar( when I try, the screen flashes black for a sec, then re-minimizes), nor can I alt-tab into them. The only way to run them is to restart my computer and restart the application. I'm a gamer so this is very inconvenient for me.

Any ideas how to fix this?
