Bug - New game includes primitive ship designs that are not legal

Beta 90b

Started a new game as Humans. Had listed as available from the start a design I made in an early Human game. This design was a very primitive small hull with starting beam component (2 beam 1 for a total of Beam 2). Problem was, I didn't have access to beam technology yet! The ship had my write up on it, but its picture was empty, and its actual stats was 0/1 hit points. It was also buildable instantly, and the built blank ship was launchable and findable in my ship list and turn order. Makes for a very weird game, having invisible ships from the start. Of course, they make nice cloaked ships, but I cannot do much with them, since all stats other then move are 0.

To get around this problem, I manually deleted those old ship designs by going to:

Document and Settings/Owner/MyDocuments/MyGames/GalCiv2/Ships folder in XP.

In fact all of the various save files are in that "GalCiv2" folder.

FYI, .90.x (gamma) bug reports belong in the council forum...

Hey, I didn't see the council forum listed when I posted this (and my other bug posting). No worries, I'll be posting all future 90x there.

But I like Moser's workaround. Thank you, Moser the Alchemist, that will be most useful.
