WB5 slows my app's load times

Please help

Hello!

I just bought and installed WB5 the other day, and overall I love it. However, there is one small problem - WB5 causes lots of delays on my computer. When WB5 is active, Windows takes an extra 30-60 seconds to load (I log in and get to stare at my pretty background for a while before any icons show up), and applications that used to launch instantly (Alcohol, Word, Everest, etc) now take an extra 30 seconds. If WB5 is off, they open in the blink of an eye.

Does anyone have any advice as to why this is? Is there anything I can do to speed things up?

System Specs:
AMD Athlon 64x2 4200+
2GB PC4000 RAM
Nvidia Geforce 7800GTX w/latest drivers

Thanks!

I have the same problem, but a little worse. Most of my icons never show up in the taskbar even though the programs are running. I also no longer have my Windows XP theme. It is no where to be found. I have the registered version of WB which I got through SDC, as I have all my SD products. I have tried different versions of 5, but since the released version came out I have had this problem with all of them.

HopkinsProg: What other apps do you have running on your machine?

In its current configuration:
WindowBlinds 5, Dameon Tools, Slimmed Down Symantec Corporate AV 10, Sentinal Web (For my UPS), and the Zone Alarm Suite.

Processor usage stays very low (except when I just unloaded WB5, got stuck @ 100% usage, and jammed), and memory is plentiful and free.

HopkinsProg... I had problems with Windowblinds and the Zone Alarm suite. I shut it off and everything came back to normal. I haven't found an ideal solution to work around the problem. But, I did go into the Windowblinds configuration to prevented Zone Alarm from being skinned. Fixed most of the slow downs but not all. Also, you may find some conflicts between the Symantec program and ZoneAlarm.

Symantec Corporate AV 10

Zone Alarm Suite.

kaspersky

I use Kaspersky AV & ZoneAlarm firewall (freeware)
No problems with WB5 & Kaspersky here...

@yrag: I use the ZA suite for email, spyware, IM and malware protection. Zonealarm's AV is off.

If you have a modern ATI or nVidia, why would you need UltraMon? Not being rude, just curious.

Zonealarm's AV is off.

You may have scanning off, but Symantec won't rest until it kills the CA vet engine (or your system)

And ultramon is a powerfull app and very simple !

That conflict aside, why does WindowBlinds slow down my system so much? I don't have a lick of trouble when I uninstall/turn WB5 off...
