Though I've just submited a few icons to the ObjectDock skin area, I've been a visiter and registered user of WC for a long time. One thing easy to see is, there are too many icons for the "famous" programs, like Photoshop, Winamp, WMP... As I know, a lot of people use many other programs on their PC, and they can't find their OD icons anywhere, as well as they do not know how to create one themselves (as in my case before).
So, why don't we have an "open area" for those OD users to request for their favorite programs' icons? And those who can use graphical apps can create them. It's also a chance to improve your skills isn't it ?
I'll be the first... Any one need an icon? You can send me a screenshot of the origin icon, and I'll try to make it an OD one (128, 256, in PNG or ICO...).
Not so good in graphik, so I need the help from the pro gd!

I WONDER IF ANYONE CAN MAKE A WEATHER PROGRAM THAT LOOKS LIKE A RADAR SCREEN FROM AN AIRPORT CONTROL TOWER, SHOWING THE WEATHER COMING AT YOU, AND ADJUSTABLE FOR YOUR AREA. YES I KNOW I AM TYPING IN CAPS! IT'S LATE AND THE EYES ARE SHOT.

Can anyone help me out with a go (igo, 囲碁, or just 碁) icon? I've got quite a few go programs for playing, reviewing, etc. Problem is that the icons are always lo-res or just plain ugly. If someone can make even one icon for a software app or even just go in general I would be very happy. I'm including some of the default icons below. I really don't want to search through 33 pages of this thread if I don't have to, but are there any good icons for things like:

Wireless internet connected
Wireless internet disconnected
Symantec Antivirus
ATI Graphics
Cisco Clean Access Systems
WLAN: Enabled

It only lets you search for topic names, not for words in the individual threads.

THe keyword search is designed to search through and find specific threads, the names of the people who may have created them, or the people who replied to a post across multiple boards. You can look for the auther, the thread name, even search for when it was created or how many replies and so on. It does NOT however search through each and every individual post in every single thread on the forums looking for the word you typed in. Think about that for a second. Even if you were to narrow your search to a single board, do you know how many results you would end up with? It would be a mess.

Have you never been on a really big message board that DID offer this feature? It actually is not a mess and helps out A LOT. For instance, say you were looking for an icon for MySpace IM...then you could search for "MySpace IM icon" (with an option to search within threads checked) and it would let you see if there are already any posts about this. It prevents multiple posts about the exact same thing. So there WOULD NOT be a ton of different results for the same search. It's actually quite common to find on any message board. So, think about that for a second.

Wow, ok then. Well, you see that was the point I was trying to make (and I could have sworn it was the same point you were getting at) that this forum does not contain that feature. I think you two have gone off on a tangent. I just said do a search for the icons.

I searched and found stuff.

Wireless
ATI
Cisco

If these aren't want you're looking for, ok, we'll be more than happy to help you. I just asked you to do a search first, the icons may already exist and be exactly what you want.

as far as all the other stuff with the searches, please take that up in another thread.
