Task Manager Issue

Problem with having Task Manager on the graphing tab and clicking and dragging the window arround.  The graphs stop updating until you stop dragging it arround and release the mouse.  After further testing I found out that you can just click the titlebar and also trigger then stopping.  This is happening with the Cyclopse skin... haven't tried another skin to see if that's it or not.  I have tested it with WB unloaded and XP updates the graphs all day long while you drag it arround.

Hello... are you guys looking into this?  Also, this is not dependant on what skin you use.  As long as WB5 is loaded it does this.  I'm not making these things up people, but would like to think you're working on a fix.

This problem you are having, I can not replicate. I even used my own skin. Opened task manager, clicked "performance" tab, have graphs moving. Then grab taskbar to drag...graphs keep moving. You might give more info, such as the "System Information" in WBconfig, Copy and Paste it in your next post. Also, what proggies are you running in background, etc. Most of the developers are out for the holidays, like we all should be, but I am sure that someone will get back to your particular problem. Like I said, I tried out several skins and could not replicate your trouble, even with several apps running (like Corel Draw and Visual Studio).

Just tested, graphs lock up on just click for me, opened silica performance, drag TM around cpu at 95%.
I am thinking that is due to my lower end system, 2.4 gig celeron, radeon 9200 SE 128 meg video card.
With cpu at 95% to drag window something has to give. Locking up on just click on taskbar is strange,
maybe is assuming drag of window is why task is click and preparing for it???
Sorry can't test with XP Luna, would have to turn theme services back on.

I see the same thing when dragging task manager. I also have Whats Running installed (task manager on steroids) and when you have the processes tab open and drag the window it also stops updating.

Unloaded WB and CPU went to 68% but it still updated on both programs when dragging.

There we go, finally some people having the same issues.  My system (Acer Ferrari Laptop) is now low on system performance for what it is.  There is no way in hell WB5 is going to max it out.  This is definatly something that SD needs to look into.  It's definatly a problem.  Like my OP stated... I get the lock on a single click as well as when dragging.  It seems the problem is with the click and not the click and drag.  Something is causing this that's linked to WB5.  WB4.6 does not do this at all.

Found another program doing the same thing. Click on the title bar of SpeedFan readings tab and it freezes also.

That is perfectly normal behaviour for WB5 per pixel skins.

Does the Fesco skin have per-pixel?  Currently have the Fresco skin loaded and it's not doing it (working correctly).

The question now is WHY does it do it with per-pixel?  Is it some limitation you built in or some performance thing?  I'm starting to think that this "per-pixel" feature of WB5 is starting to impare WB's finer qualities that we've loved over the years.  It either needs some major optimization to it's code or something.  This is just stupid... but that's just my thoughts.

I'm more curious than concerned about something that really doesn't affect the performance of my machine. After Scorpio said he couldn't replicate the problem and I know we use similar cards I thought there might be some other limitation to my system. No worries mate, as they say in OZ.

Actually there are performance issues with WB5... at least on my system anyway.  It takes my AMD Turion cpu and maxes it's speed to 2.0GHz whenever I have WB5 loaded.  This is in another thread I have going on.  So far I seem to be the only one with this perticular processor technology because no one has stepped up to bat with a Turion laptop... let alone one that's exhibiting the same issues.

Would you please let us know why?  I just tested by disableing Per Pixle in WB and it performs normaly.  Please explain why this is a limitation with PP enabled.

I would suggest hyperpaint being the culprit, but I've not tested for that. Try disabling it with a perpixel skin.

How do you disable hyperpaint?  If I disable perpixel on any skin the problem goes away.  I guess hyperpaint is also disabled when perpixel is disabled in the system info screen.

How do you disable hyperpaint?

WB Config > Basic Settings > Performance.

I guess hyperpaint is also disabled when perpixel is disabled in the system info screen.

No.

It's not Hyperpaint... that option wasn't even turned on for me.  Turned it on... same thing.  Decided to leave it off since I didn't see any visual differences with it on.
