Mouse lag with window blinds

I am experiencing a problem with windowblinds when moving windows with the contents showing. The problem also arises when moving my mouse over any kind of context menu (like the programs submenu in START). The problem is that the mouse pointer lags. This started happening when I upgraded my video card from a nvidia 6800 OC, to an ATI Radeon X850 XT PE. I did not experience the problem with my older 6800 OC.

I am running windows XP with SP2, and all updates. I am running the 5.12 catalyst drivers for my video card. I should also note, that I tried with my original pc configuration, and after a system format, and had the same laggy results. I've tried both the 5.0 trial from stardock, and I've tried an older 4.5 version of window blinds I was able to find, and I had the same problems. I saw one other post that had a similar problem. Any feedback would be invaluable.

Thanks

Do you have the Catalyst Control Panel installed? If so, try reinstalling the ATI software/drivers without the control panel. I don't know about the 5.12 version, but back at the 5.9 and earlier, the Catalyst CP interfered with everything skinnable on my PC. Made me switch to nVidia, but I didn't ask for help.

You might also make sure you don't have more than 10 apps in windows startup. And try setting your Virtual Memory 1.5 times installed RAM (initial) and 3 times installed RAM (maximum).

I am truly sorry no one has ventured any suggestions to you, this is not normal. I do hope you get a fix.
