Another Bug

Here's another bug in WB5 006b version.  When you have a skin that has a wallpaper associated with it, on every restart of the PC it reapplies the wallpaper, but doesn't change that setting in display properties.  In other words... let's say you have background set to abc.jpg in display properties, but the skin has a wallpaper it applies when you apply the skin which will be called yourloginname.jpg.  Well, when you restart your wallpaper is no longer abc.jpg (visually), but if you go in display properties the background selected is definatly abc.jpg and also the preview is still indicative of abc.jpg, yet the actual wallpaper being displayed on the real background is definatly yourloginname.jpg.  BTW, this is not skin dependant and I've also disabled "apply supplied wallpaper" so we'll see if it continues to do this.

Also still waiting on the AMD Turion speed stepping fix as well as the console window fix. Way to go SD.

Console window fix?

Regarding your speedstep issue, we have been totally unable to reproduce anything similar.

There is some positive news for you.  We have reproduced the favorites menu issue you reported.  It seems the very first time one of those menus opens the borders skin perfectly, but after that, the borders remain unskinned, but the contents still skin fine.

I hope to have a fix for that implemented soon.

Console Windows Fix = Skin the command prompt

As for the speed issue, it's definatly WB5.  Whenever you unload it it goes back to normal speed stepping.  It also doesn't matter what skin you use... you can even disable per pixle and it still locks the cpu speed at the max.  There is definatly a problem there... you stated that you tested it on a desktop AMD cpu.  That's not going to do anything... the AMD Turions in laptops speed step differently and there wouldn't be a reason for a desktop cpu to have these kinds of capabilities built in... they don't run on batteries.  WB4.6 does not max the speed... only WB5.  Just because you can't duplicate the problem inhouse doesn't mean there isn't one.  After all, we'll all finding all sorts of issues with WB5 that you guys were unaware of inhouse.  And until recently you thought the issues with the Favorites menu was in my head... well, according you the last post it seems you've changed your mind.  Also, keep in mind that in regards to the Favorites issue... also check out the reason why the menu corners don't match the others at the same time... take a close look at the menu corners using Cyclops skin, you'll see what I mean.  I'm not making this stuff up... I just report the problems I'm seeing and want fixes for me and for EVERYONE.

Could you post a screenshot of your menu corners issue?

The favorites menu doesn't support transparency, so no rounded corners in that of course if thats what you mean.

The unskinned console windows is not a bug.  The feature was incompatible with the new WB5 features, so its been removed until it can be redesigned.  Hopefully for 5.1, but we will see.

When's the next update comming then?... it would have been nice to know what was stripped out of WB5 in some docs.  It just feels like a step back from 4.6 to me.
