Why won't it work?

WB5 doesn't load skins...at all

Hey!

I downloaded, WB5, but when I select a skin and click on ''Apply Changes'' nothing works! :/ I tryed reinstalling, rebooting, everything you can imagine, and I just can't figure out what I'm missing here. I'm now stuck with Windows Classic, since that's the only one that does seem to work. Please, people, what am I missing here?

BTW: It worked this afternoon, but I deinstalled it because I wanted to try something else. So my machine can handle WB5, but for some reason, it doesn't anymore.

Try unloading WB > restore Windows XP default theme via "Display Properties\Themes tab\Theme drop-down list\Apply" > uninstall WB with this zapper utility https://www.stardock.com/files/ODNT_zapper.exe (just double-click the downloaded utility file and select WB in the uninstall tab to remove the program) > reboot > delete any leftover WB folders in "C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop" folder > reinstall WB from scratch (making sure the activation is indicated during the process, and installation is completed) > reboot > attempt to apply a pre-packaged skin.

Note - if for some reason the above procedure does not work, and you have a paid for version, you can go here https://www.stardock.com/sdnet_login.asp and fill in the form to receive Stardock Central program, which will allow you to install the latest beta with the new configuration/data file design.

This may be more compatible with your system if you are attempting to install the WB5 that uses the ODBC access.
