Stardock Central

Can't access installed software

Hi. Have submitted this previously...had one tech reply who suggested doing a icon repair...but the problem is still occuring. When I open SC I'm automatically taken to the news site...which has always been the case, but I no longer see the icons for eg, Object Desktop, Icon Packager etc. So I can't install/uninstall any of the products. Like if I wanted to install right-click I don't have access to it. The program still updates accordingly and today, when it update IP and OD, I was able to gain access again to all the software...something seems to have changed since I updated IP previously. Anyone experiencing this or have any ideas as to what's happening?

In SDC Settings/ Tools/ General/ un-check "Display News when Stardock first opens" and scroll to bottom and check "Repair Icon Associations"

Huh......?

On the Stardock Central front is there a problem with accessing the Discussions (Forums) through it at the moment? It's not been displaying any (new)messages for a day or so now, I've tried resetting it but now all the various sections are empty even though it keeps saying it's updating threads. Also tried a new install of SC, but that was just over my original one.

go into the SDC folder and delete the discussion .ini (just in case, maybe copy 1st and move the copy)

Still no joy, I'll try a clean install later. Will no doubt be back if that doesn't work. Thanks anyway

This has been an unusual 'bug'. Mike H. suggested uninstalling SDC and reinstalling it...which I did and all is well again. Now when I open it I have the OD, Games, WinCustomize, Misc etc icons, listed down the left side. It had mysteriously disappeared after a recent IP update...I'm guessing it had something to do with that. Thanks for your responses.

Fabio, you say your left pane disappeared? If you look close, there is a gripper there, if you click this gripper the left pane slides left out of view. Not saying this fixes anything, just suggesting...

Good grief. That was the problem I was having. After the last update somehow the horizontal gripper for the discussion display frame had gone right up to the top. Wasn't visible at all, just looked like one single line there not two.

Thanks for mentioning that!
