Taskbar doesn't inherit Skin elements

I have been cycling through many of my old (and some new) skins for WB to see if they are any different under WB5. The START button doesn't inherit the look I see in the skin preview. It changes colors but it always looks the same graphically. Could I have done something to cause that? I don't see any settings that would indicate I have that turned off.  Under Basic Settings the only unchecked items are Dialog Backgrounds and Wallpaper.

Any ideas?

It looks like WB has not been installed properly. A screen shot of your problem will be nice and Please copy WB system summary report from WBConfig Window and paste it here. If you can provide your system specs, it would be an act of kindness.

I have a screen shot showing the task bar as it came up using a skin called BadlandsWB but I can't figure how to include it here.  It is the same as this regardless of the skin I use.

I am going to change to disablestage1=0 next and I will advise the results.

I changed to disablestagte1=0 with no ill effects. It didn't correcxt the task bar issue, however, but my CPU usage is normal.

you have to upload the pic to a hosting site like photobucket or imageshack (both free), then copy the http url and paste it in the box that pops up when you click image (or link if it's a really big pic).

If you set DisableStage1 = 1 then your taskbar will not skin.  If you set it back to 0 and then kill & restart explorer (or reboot) then it should skin again.
