Multiplicity Demo not connecting

Hi;

Downloaded the demo for this great program a couple of days ago. I configured the primary computer and secondary computer without incident.
Since then, I swapped the secondary computer, installed the software on the new secondary only to have multiplicity not recognize the new secondary computer.
I have eliminated the first computer as secondary, have even turned it off, but to no avail.

I'm a guaranteed buyer if I can get this thing to work. Please help

there's a newsgroup called:

Stardock.thinkdesk.multiplicity

You might be able to find your answers there. Wish I could help more

1) Is the new pc set as the pc to switch to seamlessly?

2) Does MP have the right IP address?

3) Does the new PC have a firewall blocking connections?

Thankyou for the replies.

Neal:

1) Yes...Im not sure how to set the seamless part though

2)It appears to. I did a release and renew ip and my isp gave me a new ip address. It seemed to partially connect at that point. However, since my ip is static, it defaulted back to the old one and I have had problems with it since.

3)firewall could be the source of the problem. If I turn the firewalls off, then it has started working. In fact, specifically, when I turn the secondary computers firewall on (its the windows firewall), multiplicity stops.

There are 3 multiplicity firewall programs and services on the secondary computer: multiplicity which has the multiplicity exe file in it; multiplicity port and multiplicity service. all of them seem to be setup correctly to the best of my knowledge.

This thing is driving me nuts

Situation has been solved.

I downloaded the free version of zonealarm, set the security at medium and that did the trick.

Thanks for the replies
