I have no glass - Full WB5 doesn't work

For some reason I am not seeing the glass effects that I see on my pc at work. WindowBlinds 5. I just bought the software a week ago, and was given the link for the free upgrade promised. The glass look is the only reason I have bought this program.

I have an ATI Radeon 9250, perfectly capable of handling this program.

I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled it several times, removing the old directory prior to reinstalls.

I tried installing the free version, but I still have the same issues with the glassless borders. SOLUTION at the bottom.

What does it say on the System Information page in Wbconfig?

You'll need per-pixel support from your graphics card. If you are using the shareware version of Windowblinds, only those per-pixel themes that came with it (Cyclops, Arrow...) will be enabled in that version. If you are using the paid version of Windowblinds and one of the themes that came with it, then details from the "Troubleshooting" section and what OS you are using should be pasted here.

Some actual support for this 20 dollar program would encourage people to actually support developers instead of downloading it off of a torrent. Just saying.

my free version didn't come with arrow. and every skin says per-pixel disabled (if it has per-pixel).

Nvidia Radeon 9250??? did you mean ATI RADEON???
I have a ATI RADEON 9250 and to make the perpixel windows work you ned to use older driver. New CATALYST dont work. Use CTAALYST 4.12.
Download CATALYST 4.12 here http://www.driverheavendownloads.net/ati.htm

WindowBlinds 5.0 System Information Report:

STATUS : WB+ SRV+ HLP+ UI+ TRAY+

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC.

Your machine does not support per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins.

This is because :

Your computer graphics hardware does not support acceleration of per pixel alpha. WindowBlinds requires this for per pixel alphablended borders as without it performance would be poor. Please see if you can obtain new drivers for your graphics hardware. Recent ATI & NVIDIA boards should support this feature. Onboard graphics tend not to.

You have one monitor in total.

(Plug and Play Monitor) 1 is attached to RADEON 9250

Thanks for the link, I will try that out.

Sorry if I am impatient, I am also dealing with Comcast right now and they have already cost me one broken phone. I think they are trying for #2

Alright, I had to uninstall all of my display drivers, uninstall WB5, and download/install .NET framework 2.0 and 2.0 TDK, then install the older version of CATALYST that the KoL linked to.

Thanks for the link and the help, everything is working correctly now.

Stardock the download times for the stand alone upgrade are very slow, you may want to put it on CNET Thanks for the cool program.

You will still get menu transparency, start menu transparency and taskbar transparency.  Just not window frame transparency.
