Plug N Play

anybody know if it's possible to have a docklet that's plug n play... for example, it only shows up when a usb device is plugged in?

It's probably possible - it just hasn't been made (IFAIK)!

Upon further reflection, I realized that one option is to run ObjectDock Plus (purchaseable via Stardock web site), and set up a "System Tray" dock.

This will allow you to access the plug-n-play "Safely Remove Hardware" icon which pops up in the system tray when you connect a device.

I do not currently run a system tray dock, so I am not sure if the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon will remember a custom icon image, but I suspect it will.
