Quick impression

I played about 50 turns earlier if not a few more and one thing that struck me was at times I had very little todo. I was mainly just waiting for certian things to be researched. Other than that I felt that a majority of turns was just a case of clicking the next turn button.

I never played Gal Civ 1 so honestly no very little about the game system and most likely was missing the point on severl things and overlooked a few. I did notice the diplomacy wasnt working at all. A nation would want peace and then the next turn it would goto war with you as there ally was still at war with you.

Not sure if its me but researching one item at a time can feel longwinded.

Still the game at Beta has loads of potential and I hope the full product really hits the nail on the head.

I know Stardock is a superb developer that really is dedicated to there games so all the best.

Researching multiple things at one time wouldn't make it any faster/more interesting, because instead of one tech in 5 turns, you'd get 5 techs in 25 turns.

I never find the early game too boring. Yes, I hit Next Turn repeatedly, but I'm always within a few turns of my next colonizer, tech, improvement, or survey ship scouting another system so I know where to send colonizers. In fact, the early game is often more frantic than the mid game (unless you're in a real shooting war in the mid game, as opposed to a paper war) because you need to stay on top of everything to maximize your potential.

Judging by the questions you asked in other posts, I think it's just a matter of you getting comfortable with how to do things effectively, at which point things start happening more often.
