OK - I'll start. I have been using FF for a long time. I have no complaints and it is great with many WB skins.

I've been using it since about 0.7 and only use That Other Browser at sites which have proprietary content. It's hard to get really excited about FF any more, but it's still the best browser out there and just keeps improving in all the little ways that you don't really notice, but which make your internet experience so much better.

There is an extension available called IE Tab -- allows specific web pages to be viewed using IE in a tab in Firefox. I've tried it out on a couple of sites and it seems to work out ok.

I am having a problem with DogmaX in Firefox 1.5. The Options box is transparent except for a few buttons. This ws not the case with FF1.07.

I tried it out using the WB5 and WB 4.6 versions of DogmaX and didn't have any issues -- sorry I can't be of any help with that.

I use the regular Mozilla suite, should I switch to Firefox? I'm pretty happy with Mozilla 1.7.

Gregory: this is not an issue with your WB skin, it's an issue with your firefox theme. this means the firefox theme you are using is incompatible with firefox 1.5

lutikriss: if you're happy with the moz suite, you have little to gain from switching to firefox. there are a few differences, but the only one of any importance is that it doesn't have the mail client.

To all, 1.5 has not been released. The latest is still a beta and is RC3. The official release version is still 1.07.

How come I can't quote here in the forum using 1.5?

must be some kind of javascript incompatibility. apparently gecko 1.8 had a bit of a javascript overhaul, so wincustomize's code probably needs to be updated.

Wow, when I wrote my post I had just went to Firefox's web site and only RC3 was offered. I just now went to the site and it is true! 1.5 has been released!

I have had one issue with it -- it seems to hog a lot of memory if you leave it open for a while. I left it up for a few hour yesterday, and it had consumed around 150 MB of memory! It wasn't a big deal though, I just closed it and started it up again, and it freed it all. I've read of other people having the same problem, but I'm sure it'll be fixed pretty soon (I haven't had any more issues with it since then).

Just downloaded it...let you all know what I think in a while

So far I think it's an improvement. Seems faster and clearing history is a snap - Shift - Ctrl - Del. Seems to skin better with WB5 too! Don't know about the memory usage yet. I give it a thumbs up!

Yep. Was just trying the quote, and it didn't add in the text I had higlighted. Odd.

Currently trying to hunt down a memory leak issue I was having yesterday. Will have to lave the browser open a bit to be sure, but I think using AdBlock Plus instead of regular AdBlock might have fixed it--have to get back to y'all on that one.

Otherwise I am very happy with the upgrade. Lots of little things. Not sure, but it seems I have more control over customizing the toolbars than I used to - able to drag and drop buttons from one bar to another, so now I have web developer and google search bar on a single horizontal line. Don't think I could do that before. Using Cyclops WB with the best ever FF theme Modern Pinball (which also has a matching Thunderbird theme out now). And it looks awesome.

I'm having the same issues with not being able to hightlight and quote -- I have to copy and paste, then put the code around it.

I'm also using regular Adblock, so it will be interesting to see the results of switching to plus...

Well, finally updated now, and it was a bit of a struggle. The updated 1.5 version wouldn't launch at first, kept crashing, so I rebooted, it crashed one more time, then suddenly it started working okay. The only bad thing about it right now is that so many of my chosen themes and extensions aren't compatible . Hope things are updated in a lot of areas soon.

After updating to Fx1.5 I was having some issues with crashes and memory leaks. Reading through the forums at Mozillazine nearly convinced me I was imagining it, but it was real and frustrating.

Crashes ranged from simple program exit to complete system lock up forcing hard restart. Leaving the browser open for hours, even unattended would result in eventual crash, but browsing exacerbated the problem.

When I installed 1.5, I first uninstalled the previous version, but my profile and many settings were retained. Most of my favorite extensions had current updates, and I had switched to the recommended AdBlock Plus. Nevertheless, the crashes continued. I did extensive and time consuming testing of extensions, but could not find the culprit.

Finally in desparation I created a new profile, and started from scratch, essentially. Since then I have been crash and memory trouble free.

I don't know what about my old profile was causing the problem. But if anyone else is experiencing trouble, I suggest creating a new profile. It worked for me!

Here's a link for some how-to's on managing, adding, and deleting profiles for Firefox http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile
In case anyone needs them.

Ooooo, last night I discovered Nightly Tester Tools, which has the lovely function of forcing extensions to be compatible. I used it, and now all my extensions are working on 1.5, except for the Bork text extension, darnit. I didn't use it that much, but it was fun to have around. Hopefully its author will update it at some point.
