I tried this. Brought up display properties to see if anything had changed. Just clicking on the tabs froze everything up. Didn't try to change anything was just looking. Re-activated themes, wasn't worth trying to figure out what was happening for a miniscule amount of resources.

I suggest a reboot after you change service settings. The savings amounts to around 10mb of memory. If you have 512 to 1gb you probably won't "notice" it, some of your memory intensive programs might tho.
