per pixel borders not supported?

I'm really sad to see that I cannot have the transparent borders on my windows. I have WindowBlinds on my IBM T30 laptop with a Mobile Radeon 7500 (latest drivers installed). When I go to the system information screen in WB, it says "Your machine does not support per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins." It also says that recent Nvidia and ATI boards should support this. Is the 7500 just too old? I'm not entirely sure I would have spent the money on WB if I had known it wouldn't fully work on my laptop.

where can i see this information? i haven't bought it yet, i want to make sure i can use perpixel stuff. i've got an Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME graphics controller. i read on some review of WB5 beta on this site and the person said "Even lowerend graphics cards such as the Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME graphics controller will support the new per-pixel borders" but i can't find it anymore. can someone confirm that i can or cannot use per-pixel borders?

Latest drivers are your enemy. I've tried with that and then reverted way back to catalyst 4.x or something and it worked fine. So try digging those old Catalysts up and giving them a shot. There must be something about the recent or at least latest version of catalyst that Windowsblinds dislikes and doesn't recognize as "per pixel capable". Stardock people should have noticed that.

thanks - i found that other thread about the catalyst drivers. now i just have to find the right older ones..

sadly it doesn't look like the ati website has the older drivers for the mobile radeon cards. bah!

The 4.12 Catalyst drivers aren't old enough for Mobility Radeons to work. We need pre-2004 drivers.

Does anyone know what exactly is causing WB to think per pixel borders aren't supported? There must be some sort of flag or something it's looking for in the drivers. Surely someone can figure out a work-around for this! I want my pretty windows!

wyldstallyns2589: I have run WB 5 on a notebook with the same graphics controller and per pixel blending works fine (it's stunning).
