Saddam's Contributions to Iraq

People! Remember this is the HUMOR category!

Saddam Hussein was president and ruler of Iraq from 1979 until his removal and capture after the 2003 invasion of Iraq. So let's take a look back at his contributions to his native land...

He worked hard to beautify his country! Look at all the lovely palaces that dot the bleak Iraqi landscape.

He tried to eliminate poverty and unemployment in his country! ...by killing all the poor people.

He listened to the minorities! The Sunnis frequently had his ear.

Let's try to find all the other great things that Saddam did to make his country a paradise!

Not for the Kim family in North Korea. Kim Jong Il just loves the bouffant hairdo, though.

Some other things Saddam has done for Iraq:

Established Iraq's 'street cred' by invading TWO countries! (Iran, 1980-88; Kuwait, 1991)

Shared oil with his gasoline-starved UN friends, despite embargoes!

Made suicide bombing profitable by paying $50,000 to families of blown-up Palestinians!

Some other things Saddam has done for Iraq:

Women (mostly Sunni) gained more freedom to get an education. Women (mostly Sunni, mostly city-folk) gained more freedoms such as driving a car. Women (mostly Sunni, mostly city-folk, most liberal thinking) gained more freedoms such as being able to not wear the traditional cover-all-over garb...

But, yeah, he gassed Kurds.

He supported culture and the arts. Look at the multitude of statues and murals (of him, of course) that graced every street corner.
He supported literature by writing a romance novel as an allegory of the first gulf war. With the help of Udai, they used torture to mold their soccer team into a force to be reckoned with.

He took tons of dangerous old-soviet stockpiled weapons and munitions off of the streets of dozens of third world nations, making them a safer place to live........by bringing them to Iraq.........and using them.

Yeah, you're getting the drift...

He worked to make Iraq the world's greatest oil producing nation! By seizing Kuwait and parts of Iran, with designs on Saudi Arabia...

Taught the principles of gravity to schoolchildren by shoving people off buildings as public execution? Promoted understanding of the handicapped by lopping off the right hand of thousands of Iraqis? Invigorated the ammunition industry by firing guns in the air every time he was seen in public?

He also helped the Iraq Olympic Soccer team learn a new appreciation for leather balls! ;~D
