IconX is using all my CPU

I just started having a problem with IconX .... when the program is running my CPU is at 50-60% when idle .... When I unload the program, it goes down to 4-6%.

I un-installed the program & re-installed. I un-installed & deleted all the files and then re-installed. Didn't help.

I'm using WinXP and I miss my desktop icons

Any ideas ?

Do you keep a lot of images saved to your desktop? if so, you might want to move them or put them a folder, else iconx will try to make them icons

you might also want to try clearing the cache.
Corky O has a mini tutorial on clearing the cache Link, you'll be looking for the Iconx folder in step 3

Same problem here. I just installed the game Civ 4 and defragged two partitions of my harddrive, played some Civ 4, ran into a bug in the game (tutorial), browsed some, did a reset and now IconX keeps taking 100% CPU power. Uninstalled and reinstalled from within Stardock Central, but the problem remains.

Count me in as well. Noticed it happening after upgrading to latest build, although at that time I also downloaded Theme Manager (uninstalled since). Reinstalls, cleanups to no avail. Got 2 icons on my desktop and nothing else so clog is not a problem + it was not happening before.

Civ 4 bug wasn't really a bug. Anyway, deleted the C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock\IconX folder, reïnstalled, same problem. I also got 2 icons on my desktop, most of the time.

I got it running normally againg. I installed new graphic drivers, or maby it was because I didn't run direct after download, but resetted.
