Very pretty, but more trouble than it's worth

I've been playing with WB for a couple of days now, and although my desktop looks fantastic, I can no longer get any work done.

I have completely uninstalled WB and all other SD programs and re-booted but still have the following outstanding problems - could anyone offer any suggestions (all of these problems started after installing WB and continue after un-installing)...

1) One of the SD programs (I forget which) stated that it needed to make changes to Internet Explorer - I foolishy let it. Now I can't access HotMail or any other site that tries to switch windows.

2) In Visual Studio .Net 2003, I try to add a new form to a project. There is no error message, but the form is not added to the project. I made sure that VS was added to the WB exclusions, but it still skinned anyway. Even with WB uninstalled VS does not work correctly and I can no longer get any work done.

3) Norton SystemWorks has a tab called 'Extra Features' that lets you tweak windows settings. This tab now shows an empty window, and I can't get Windows to work the way that I want it to.

I am using XP Home with an ATI Mobility Radeon X600 card.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

I think you want to try the zapper utility. Link is in this thread. I am not sure this is the right course of action but it should not hurt. https://www.wincustomize.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=144&AID=64426

Sounds like you have a script problem too. You can download the recent scripts here http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/downloads/list/webdev.asp Also, you need to return everything back to default before you remove the progs. Norton is famous for causing problems with scripts and a myriad of other things. Good luck.

OK, just in case anyone else has these problems, I fixed them by entering the following in the Run dialog...

   regsvr32 jscript.dll
   regsvr32 vbscript.dll
