WB problems

Ok, so whenever I put a skin other than windows classic on, my WB cuts off windows at certain places...you can still expand the window fully, but the actual window it self disappears. It also happens with windows that open (when i save a file, or am prompted to select yes or no, I can never see my coices). Anyone have anycle what's happening? I'm using WB 4.6, and am quite computer illiterate.

can you add a screenshot to your post? Not sure how through the Stardock Forums - but through the WC forums = upload the screenshot to a hosting site (i use photobucket, it's free), copy the http address it creates and paste that into the box that pops up when you click 'image'.

Hmmm...I'll try it form here:

You can see that the wb program is cut off (no scroll bat at the bottom), the recycle bin pop-up is cut off half-way down, and messenger cuts off after a certain point.

what dpi is your screen set to?

No...Don't use windowfx, and it's set for 1024x768. I've tried resizing though, but that doesn't seem to work either.

So would anyone else like to try to help? I really like WB, but am never able to use it because of all the problems it gives me.

is your screen set for 96dpi?  I think I read that's what WB works best at.


What operating system including service packs are you using?

Um...Ya, it's set to 96 dpi, and I'm using XP, but I'm not sure about the service packs.

Are you changing the skin setting through "Display Properties" to something other than "Classic"? If you have updated to WB5 (you can check to see for sure what the latest version is by going to "C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\WindowBlinds\readme.txt" and at the very top of this text file you will see a heading something like this:

"WindowBlinds 4.96 Beta [11/11/05]
ODNT/Enhanced build for registered users - DO NOT DISTRIBUTE
h**p://forums.stardock.com/?forumid=167"

This is the latest build. If you are changing skins through "Display Properties" with this build, or any Beta build, you should change it back to "Classic" and use the WBConfiguration utility in your System Tray.

If this is not the cause of your problems, a screenshot of what is happening and a detailed expression of what causes this would definately help everyone to troubleshoot and solve your difficulties.

presentlies stated ver 4.6 so I don't think it a beta - link to screen shot is in #4 above

Ok, let me try to address these:
Bichur: It was the free version that I downloaded from here (https://www.stardock.com/products/windowblinds/), and I have tried to uninstall, redownload, anr reinstall, to no avail.

Mike: The program you derected me to isn't there...I'll try looking around for it though.

the WB free download link eventually takes you to downloadDOTcom.


can't tell if Mike's link works or not, my employer has the system locked.


I've seen a post with a pic like your screenie but I can't find it and I'm thinking it was about a 1-3 yrs ago.
