Beta 4 - ctd on load

I don't even make it to the main menu. I have sent my smart exception information in. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling (now twice) with no luck.

Is this the same as the activation error? Can you get in the game now?

I can technically get in game now. Now that I found the appropriate CD Key...

It crashes to desktop about where it should be displaying the main menu. Screen blacks out for switching to full screen, cursor changes to the GC2 cursor, then crash.

Sounds like what mine was doing when I tried to launch from the Start Menu shortcut. Launching from SDC seemed to fix it.

Have you tried running the game in windowed mode? Run the GalCiv II Config program from the start menu and uncheck the "Fullscreen" box.

Windowed mode works. So there must be something with the full screen setting?

Hmm...tested with running in full screen mode from SDC, works fine (though still no sound). So it doesn't appear to be the full screen setting necessarily. Definitely something amiss... Checking other options...
