Beta 4 Activation

Starting Beta 4 from the Start Menu in Windows causes a Product Activation window to pop up. After keying in the correct email and product serial number and clicking on Activate results in the error log listed at the end of this post.

Starting Beta 4 from Stardock Central works fine.

Please attempt to reinstall and activate the product again (you can right-click on the product in Stardock Central and attempt to activate without reinstalling if you are using Stardock Central). Please include this log file when contacting support@stardock.com.

It sounds to me as if your shortcut in the start menu is trying to start you in the wrong directory, since it runs fine out of Stardock Central.  You can remove the shortcut from the start menu and create a new one by right clicking on the GalCiv2.exe file.

Seems like a remnant of my previous beta install causing a problem. I made a new shortcut and it works. I compared the 2 shortcuts and the only difference is the Start In field. For the old shortcut it was set to %APPATH%\ whereas the new one points to the right directory.
