HELLO !


Just a couple of things to keep us  all awake !


I have Object Desktop (paid version) - -and generally I am very happy with the whole programme and its ' add ons ' , :


However when I logged in to Stardock Central this evening I was offered 2 updates for w/b 5 beta  version 4.95 b.00 and skin studio beta 4.95 b 002. The result was this


 " C:\Program Files\Stardock\Stardock Central\sp.xml\Installation Failed" - - also ,when I checked the view log I found that my new Nvidia G-force 6200 agp is not listed .(the old one is...)


Also I am experiencing an occasional flicker on my display . . ... when I am on theme manager and my start menu . .


I am a beginner when it comes to modding,and programming so this is new to me . .


I know I have a fairly good system, but , if it helps,here is the basic setup I am using:


System Model A7n8X-e , AMD ATHLON xp at 3.2 ghz,Nvidia 6200 agp8x with 256 onboard ram,Twin 160gig hard drives,2gb ddr, and 200mhz twinned (400mhz fsb) & 19" TFT LCD : so, I think this is a good setup that I'm using . .


Anyway , if you wizzkids out there in Stardockland can help me ,Please do....! ! At my age I need all the help I can get !

You should do the following:

1. Copy your "Themes" folder froom c:/program files/stardock/object desktop/windowblinds, save it somewhere that is easily found, ie. desktop or My documents.
2. Uninstall all versions of Windowblinds.
3. Download and install windowblinds, first 4.6 then 5
4. Make sure to restart system.
5. Copy your old "Themes" folder, the one you copied to the easily found spot, to the c:/program files/stardock/object desktop/windowblinds/themes directory.

Remember to allow the activation to go through any firewall you have up. As the read me says, you must restart before applying any skins.
That should fix you up. If that does not help, try large capital letters "HELP!!" as a subject in main Support forum. I believe you should be set with this instruction. Happy skinning!
