Beta 3: ship design tech mismatch

Eager for beta 4 but stuck waiting still, I fired up the old build and played around a bit. Strangely, a ship design I had saved in a prior game appeared in the buildable list after I researched lasers (like the pre-designed ships do). But that's not the real problem. Not only was a custom ship loaded into the list for no apparent reason, but I had not even researched the needed techs for this ship, as it uses Mk4 or Mk5 lasers, and I only had Mk2 researched!
Screenie: Notice the high level lasers (they look like can openers IMO) on the ship, while only Mk2 is available.

It might be too late for a beta3 bug to be tracked down, but I've seen no mention of this issue so I figured I'd post it anyway.
