Registration/Activation of Programs

Another newbie question, hopefully the last one.  I have looked all over for an answer and e-mailed Stardock about this and received a form letter reply so hopefully folks here can help.

I was using WindowsBlinds Shareware for a while, decided to buy and purchased ObjectDesktop.  Downloaded Stardock Central and registered the ObjectDesktop Subscription with no problems.  I have tried to register the other programs I downloaded through Stardock Central (WindowsBlinds, DesktopX, ThemeManager, IconPackager) with no success, tells me serial number is wrong.  My question is, if you register Object Desktop subscription, do you need to register all the individual programs as well?  Or, once you register Stardock Central it downloads full versions?  The reason I ask is I don't think the functionality in the full version of WindowsBlinds is working.  Also, installed StarDock Central, registered, installed WindowsBlinds before realizing I didn't properly un-install shareware version of WindowsBlinds.  Wasn't sure if that could have caused any problem.

Sorry for being so long winded.

There is an automated response that is sent when we receive an email at support@stardock.com, but these are only sent out for two reasons:

  1. To get you set up with our new support system
  2. Because your email has been filtered.

I'm going to assume you've encountered #2, because I do not see a support ticket for you under the email address associated with your stardock.net account.  In the email you received, it will list the possible reasons for why your email was filtered.

You should not need to register each product separately. After entering your Object Desktop serial number, everything should be available for download as the full version (rather than demo or shareware) under the "Object Desktop" category.

If you are still having issues getting Windowblinds to work properly try these steps:

  1. Uninstall Windowblinds from the Add/Remove programs (the shareware version should be listed here)
  2. Navigate to your C:\Program files\Stardock\Object Desktop\Windowblinds directory
  3. Select all the files in there (you may leave your skins/subfolders unselected)
  4. Delete all that's selected
  5. Restart your computer
  6. Install Windowblinds from Stardock Central
  7. Restart your computer

Windowblinds should be working at this point.

Yepper, the one serial entered for Object Desktop has been working for me. (but since reading your reply I will not longer attempt to try inputting serials on the programs every couple of month 'to be sure' )

Don't forget any subsequent purchases (Object Dock Plus, Games, Misc {Natural Desktop, etc}, and what not will need their own serial input.
