I borrow Object X to have a try only for few days and to deciede if buy or not, of course I will not! I got to work on my PC not waste time for to find a way ro remove it! ! and this is the worse software I have install since xp come out ! !!!!! I pretend a way do unistall it! now!

ddente,

Did you successfully uninstall DesktopX yet? It is not clear in your last comment.

If not, here are a few things you can try:

1 - Download the "zapper" utility using the link provided by Bichur in comment #4.

2 - Double-click the downloaded file to load it > look for DesktopX under both the "unload" and "uninstall" tabs and select them > click the "Apply" button, and then "OK".

If for some reason DesktopX is not showing under the uninstall tab, and you are still experiencing the same issues, you can try the following:

1 - Hit 'Ctrl+Shift+Esc' keys to invoke the Task Manager > click the "Processes" tab > look for any listings for "DesktopX.exe" and/or "Widget.exe" > select any you find, and click the "End Process" button with the item selected to end the process.

2 - Delete the "DesktopX" folder (and IconX if it exists) in the "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock" folder - this will clear the cache.

Note - you may need to tell windows to "Show hidden files and folders" by selecting that option in "Folder Options > View tab". For more on clearing the cache, you can see my mini tutorial here http://corkyo.wincustomize.com/Articles.aspx?SID=5463&AID=82461

3 - After clearing the cache, reinstall DesktopX > reboot computer

4 - Double-click the "zapper" utility > select DesktopX under the uninstall tab > click "Apply", and then "OK".

That should do it.

Normally you uninstall it through the Stardock Central Browser which you are sent a link to when you get the product from Stardock.
