More WB5 problems

OK finally after two days got WB5 to install by updating SDC to build 95. However the Theme manager doesn't seem to talk to WB anymore, whenever I change themes a tool tip pops up saying new skin as been added, bu doesn't change the WB, and when I reboot now a strange wallpaper appears for about 5 sec. never seen it before a blus swirling thing, then the normal save theme pops up. Looked through all the desktop wallpapers can't find it. Any ideas

Is it the one included with StealthOS?

Look in the StealthOS folder (normally located in "C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\WindowBlinds" folder).

If it is the same one, the issue may be with WB5.

I had a similar experience booting the computer with StealthOS (for WB5) applied. The wall was displayed for a second before Windows finished loading the Welcome screen  - then the Welcome screen took over.

I have seen this type of behavior when resuming from a screen saver, and the system is set to require a password on resume.

You might look in your settings for both programs to see if any "Apply any wallpaper supplied" is selected, and deselect it to test.

As far as Theme Manager goes, it is not surprising to see the issues with a beta.

Yep that is the wallpaper it is using, haven't figured out how to stop it yet. I also noticed that the theme manager won't load any skins, when you chg themes it pops up an WB icon in systray saying new skin has been added, even though it was already there, but doesn't chg it, have to goto WBconfig and so it manually, that is a big time pain, I'm thinking of going back to 4.6 until they get this working right.

This may not work for everybody, but the thing seems to work.
I located the ACTIVATE.EXE in C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\SDCentral. I copied it to the WindowBlinds folder. I reinstalled it and made sure it was running. I then ran the ODNT_zapper that one of you guys suggested I download(thanks for the link) and it asked what I wanted to uninstall. I checked both unload and uninstall WindowBlinds. Let me tell you, I WAS LOSING IT! Reboot. Reinstall. It's working on Win x64! A word of caution: Back up your skins and stuff. IT WILL TRASH WB! So, I need to go back and download stuff. Thanks to all of you, especially the genius who came up with this.
P.S.: I thought there may be a memory issue. Why? Hey! I just trying to make it work right. What did I install or what settings did I change on my computer? Ram Optimizer. Off. Tweaks I made with TuneXP. Disabled. Did a system file check. Files were missing. It asked for Winx64 CD. I even disabled all settings on SDC that let it download everything. WB5 is still there and dormant. For now. I hope to figure out where the problem started. I'm no IT Pro, but I HATE to lose.

Muchos Gracias, DocWhoSan

I heard that before, but I did search after search and there is not a file named activate.exe anywhere. Not real sure why my system is different. But I'm use to it, everything I have on this computer is a nightmare to get working, thats why I hate updating or changing anything when its working, cause this always happens.

Doctor Who: If you are talking about WindowBlinds 5 beta, then it is NOT working on Windows XP 64 bit.  It is lacking several key 64 bit dlls and without them WB 5 simply will not function.

I know this. Stardock will have it ready later this year. SDC was set to download EVERYTHING. I would not have let it do so if I knew that it was not for my OS. I just wanted to go back to WB4, but WB5 would also load and I would be back to the drawing board. It worked. I was just passing this on so maybe it will clear up the problem with those people with this x64 software. I bought it (x64). It's not a trial. I not uninstalling Object Desktop either. There are still components that will not work. I will make it work right. At least having WB4 back until the new build is ready is better than nothing. I apologize if I led anyone to think I got WB5 to work. I'm not that smart! It (WB4) is running stable now. I thought passing this on was important to someone. I shall strive to be more specific in the future.

Sorry DocWhoSan

I couldn't get on WC or DA. Updated to whatever the latest update is and everything works fine. I mean why go through 20 different things when you just need to update to the latest ver.
