Make all the windows transparnt? but be able to see the files, toolbars in the windows?

i have a strange question... Is it possible to use windows blinds as i have been for years. so that when i open say any window !!! my documents my pics my vids etc.. where all the files are for that part to be transparent? so ya can still see the desktop? That would be AWESOME!!! so in other words i would click on mydocuments see the toolbar ontop, (a small frame as ya would w\ any window) and then where i see alll my files.. it would be transparent instead of white. so ican still see my desktop wallpaper..

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thanks Chris

If you were to create a skin that applied had a transparent property (the color "Magic Pink" RGB(255,0,255)) in the areas you desired, you should be able to achieve that effect (This would require some knowledge of Skin Studio, however). I am currently unaware of any available skins offering this feature.

WindowFX does offer this feature, however. You are able to make your windows any amount transparent, even fully transparent, as you request. Use "Transparency (Application)" and add the applications you want set to transparent (explorer.exe for folder windows).

I think he's asking to just make the folder wall transparent but leave the window frame.

Careful with the fully transparent, can be a bugger to find again.

Interesting historical fact, the original windowfx could do this on windows 9x based machines. It was a bit dodgy, but worked well. You saw straight through to the desktop, didn't show any of the windows in between. You could even colourise the area to give it a glass look.

I don't think it would work anymore though.

I am also not sure the magic pink idea will work, I think you will just get a lot of mess...or...a brilliant pink background
