Right-click taskbar > Properties > deselect "Hide inactive icons" in Notification Area section > click "Apply".

Try saving your theme, then do the following:

1 - Unload ObjectDock

2 - Go to "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock" folder, and delete the ObjectDock folder found there - this will clear the cache, and force ObjectDock to load with the program defaults.

Note - you may need to open My Computer, and go to "Tools > Folder Options > View tab" and select "Show hidden files and folders", then click "Apply" - which will allow you to access the Local Settings folder in the address above.

3 - Start Stardock Central > Tools menu > Settings > select the "MCP notification area support" option if not already selected > click OK.

4 - Reboot computer

5 - Start ObjectDock (the default docks will appear) > go to Dock Settings > load your saved theme > reboot machine to load all icons into the system tray dock

To the best of my knowledge, you should always see any icons that are visible in the Windows notification area, display in your system tray dock as well.

Note - if you do not have Stardock Central for some reason, you can do a search for "sdmcp.exe" file on your computer, and then create a shortcut to the file in your Startup menu - which will enable the notification area support.

I hope this clears it up.

If not, the icons that are not showing in the dock - yet are visible in the Windows notification area, may have either a setting or special function preventing their being displayed.

ok, having same problem. tray icons not appearing. i'd love to do the Stardock Central setting change, but i don't have stardock central. i did a search for "sdmcp.exe" and nothing. why do i need this? what is it? why aren't these settings in just normal objectdock? i don't see the need for additional software...

ObjectDockPlus doesn't hide any icons in the systray, inactive or active, they all show, and the Windows systray settings don't matter....... this is the first time I've heard of OD+ hiding 'some' of the icons...

ObjectDock free version does not support "System Tray" functions.......you need ObjectDock Plus.

i have plus...

How about you try registering it in SDC.

i have to register it in what? for why? i don't get it... why isn't the option for system tray activation work in objectdock? i guess i can just use that applet, it works and i don't have to create another dock for it.

Arrrghhh ... look in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Stardock You should have an SDMCP.exe there. Double click it, and restart OD+. Set SDMCP to run at startup, and you'll be set.

Text from the "read-me" file in ObjectDock Plus sub-directory:

"The Stardock MCP (sdmcp.exe) must be running to use the tabbed Tray to display system tray items. It is included with this installer and as part of Stardock Central. If this is the first install of ObjectDock Plus, a reboot will be needed to start displaying most system tray icons."

If for some reason the "sdmcp.exe" file is missing, and you really do not want Stardock Central installed, you can try uninstalling/reinstalling ObjectDock Plus.

yea, i don't use stardock central, and objectdock plus' abilities to show systray icons is not availiable unless i do. i found a docklet that allows me to do the same thing, not sure if it's better or worse, but it works and i can display taskbar items that are open AND system tray icons on the same dock, no need for multiple docks. i might as well use the freeware version, i don't think i use a single plus feature damnit.

I'm wondering if there is a way to NOT show certain icons. I use a separate OD+ dock to replace the normal system tray. I have several programs marked as "always hide" in the windows taskbar setting, but OB+ doesn't care about that and always shows them all. Is there a way to hide, for example, the "safely remove hardware" icon that always pops up in my OD+ systray when I plug in certain hardware. It's an ugly ass fuzzy icon that you cannot reassign because it is listed as "explorer.exe" in the .INI settings file (like network connection icons).

yea i was wondering the same thing, but after poking around i'd say that you can't remove any icons. OD+ just puts ALL icons in the system tray, no matter what. if someone could prove me wrong, that'd be cool but i think we're gonna have to wait for an update. noonien, there is a docklet that you can add that will show the tray icons, and you can select which ones you want to display and which ones you don't. it's not nearly as cool, you can obviously put it on another dock, but since it's only one docklet it only shows all of the system tray icons you want to appear in one docklet section. try it out, not the best but at least you can remove tray icons taht you don't want on there.
