Need help with bootskin...

Okay, so i've never used bootskin before and i thought i'd give it a whirl...installed it and picked the skin i wanted and it said it will be shown next time i reboot. So i reboot and up comes the load screen, which stays black, computer screen blinks then goes back to the main part of the computer booting, then comes up a message saying computer didnt start correctly and what should i do....i pick last know good config cause all that works. I went to the bootskin page and saw about deleting vidstub.sys and using an older version. Did that twice, used 1.03 first got the same result. Then tryed 1.02 and once again the same thing

Anyone know why its doing this and how (if any way) i can get this thing working? Thanks.

Bootskin doesnt work with some systems. If you tried all versions and get the same result, you probaly have an incompatible system. Sorry.

dang really? Do you know what systems it has problems with? I have a Compaq running XP Home...Thanks for the response

It is the BIOS that causes bootskin not to work on some computers not the brand of computer. Will work with some Compaq computers but not all, different models may have different BIOS tweaks done to them by Compaq. It also seems to be a more common problem with laptops.

So i guess i should give up? or is their anything i can tweak myself in the bios? Cause i swear i thought i had bootskin on my computer a coulple years ago...could be wrong though.
