I was talking to Heidi today about art and the necessity of honesty. Honesty is so difficult, but it must be my goal and my constant effort.

If you aren't honest, then why even try? To get "approval"? For who? The fake you?

I agree, but I am not just talking about honesty versus lying; I am talking about a brutal honesty with self, one that requires careful introspection and discovery over time. We all desire approval, we all are fake at times. I am talking about digging into the areas that scare me, ones that I have not touched and don't really know or understand. If you, my freind, have acheived such consistant honesty that you can sneer at an honest admission that honesty is difficult, then you are so far beyond me that I doubt anything more that I can say will be of interest to you.
