Help with crashes and slow computer

I just purchased Object Desktop and am running updates with Stardock Central. I have an ATI Radeon IGP 345 M graphics card on a Sony Vaio Laptop P4 3 ghz with 700 + mb running RAM. I am running Window Blinds, Windows FX, Icon X, Object Dock and Konfabulator. Is that too much to be running? My system tells me it's okay as far as resources, but I don't always get smooth transitions and some of my mpegs run VERY choppy. Any help you can give me would be awesome.

I didn't see anything about the "crash" part. As for "choppy" make sure your ATI drivers are up to date and don't run Windows FX.
