Program Complete waste of money and time

I am not sure if it is because I have a 64 bit processor or not, but this program has been a complete waste of 50$. I am not an uneducated computer user. In fact I design code and databases for a major company. this program has caused nothing but a constant stream of memory errors, program compatibility and general computer unhappyness. The worst part is, anytime I tried to contact customer support they made it like it was my fault! Fact of the matter is, after I spent an hour uninstalling the damn thing (since you have to install EACH item one by one) my computer is fine, I have not received one error message since.

Stardock - Maybe you should start testing your products before releasing them. If I released something this poor to an end user, I would be fired, no doubt about it.

And no, I did not install the beta version in case you were wondering.

havocdragon,

Sorry to hear about your problems.

I run WindowBlinds, IconPackager, and ObjectDock Plus on both a desktop and laptop (both standard 32 bit Intel processors).

I also use IconDeveloper, SkinStudio, and DesktopX upon occasion.

All works as it should.

I am thinking it is indeed the 64 bit processor and compatibility with most of the programs (if I am not mistaken, 64 bit support was added to WindowBlinds).

If you test it on a 32 bit machine, you should at least see acceptable performance from the Object Desktop core programs.

Good luck.

I would say quite a leap of faith to expect 32bit software to operate flawlessly on 64bit hardware. It strikes me as quite naive, really.

It's definitely not something I'd expect to work without some caveats given my own experiences over the years with MS's DOS & Windows' transitions from 8->16->32 bits.

After a cursory look on Stardock's site there doesn't seem to be any words explicitly promising anything one way or the other regarding 64bit Windows so maybe that Stardock's 'bad'.

I'm sure if you contact Stardock sales & ask for your money back you'd get it, given my previous paragraph (presuming it's correct!).
