Icon Developer! HELP!

TRANSPARENT BACKGROUND!

Hey, I just got Icon Developer and was wondering how to make the background of your icon transparent instead of having a white square behind your icon.

Thx.

You will need to use an image file format that supports transparency for your source image file.

The most common one is probably ".png".

Photoshop has their file format ".psd" which also supports transparency.

Depending on the image editing program you are using, you can open (or create) your image - then do one of the following:

- Save as .png file
- Export as .png file

Some programs will flatten the image when using the save as command, which will add a white background - most of these programs allow you to "export as .png" and keep the alpha-channel (transparency).

Paint Shop Pro (by Corel) is a good program, and relatively cheap, if you are in the market for image editors/creators for skinning and graphics work.

Other popular programs: Photoshop, CorelDRAW.

Corky's way is the best. There is also an option in Icon Developer to select a color in your image to make trasparent.
