One Icon From Multiple Images

Multiple PNG sizes for different icon sizes.

I have 5 PNGs of the same image at different resolutions: 128x128, 64x64, 48x48, 32x32, 16x16. I tried using the 128x128 as a base to make all other resolutions for the ICO but the PNG just doesnt shrink so well. I want to make one ICO using all the PNGs I have for the different resolutions, but I cant see how to use different PNGs in Icon Developer for different ICO resolutions. Can anyone help?

You can use Insert->Browse for image, or any of the other options on that menu, and then remove
the resolutions you aren't going to use that particular image for (AND those that already exists, otherwise they get overwritten) from the "icon formats selected to be added" list..

In my point of view this probably should ask before overwriting an existing (nonempty) image for a
resolution but..

This should work for I.Devel 1.2.021 at least.. I'm not sure about earlier releases..

Yes.

Oh, you want me to help you? Okay.

1. Ok, open IconDeveloper (ID for short). Click on 'Convert image to icon.' In the window that appears, browse for your PNG file and click 'open'.
2. You'll now see a new dialog titled 'add new icon format.' Notice here that 32x32 has a label that notes it as already added. You'll still want to add it later, as it has only been added as a blank image. Now, you can click the format you want for that image, and click 'Add ->'. Now click 'OK.'
3.Now, in the ID window, you'll see two formats in the left pane. One is that evil blank 32x32 and the format that you added. Now, in the upper part of the left pane, find the arrow next to the + (plus) sign, and click it. From that menu, select 'Browse for file...'
4. Now select another file that you want in the ico, and follow the steps in step 2 to add the format, and then the steps in step 3, and repeat.

NICE! When you add the second, third, forth ... images, you have to remove the formats from the dialog window you already loaded or else it over writes them using the new image you are adding. Damn - Thanks a bunch. I have a lot of work to do. Im porting Everaldo's new Crystal Clear icon set to IconPackager.
