Is there a version that works?

So is there a version that works? I'm thinking of upgrading but I want to have a good version that works.

Thanks

Anything before 3 is good. Version 3 has caused alot of problems.

What specific problems are you running into?

Try deleting iprepair.dll from your IconPackager directory, it has been reported to cause some problems. It's one of the new features included in IconPackager but it causes issues with certain programs.

Brad...has the iprepair.dll file been deleted from the most recent build of IP? I had major problems with it last week and have uninstalled it, but would like to be able to use it again provided it is without these major bugs.

I am pretty sure it's been removed from more recent builds.

Brad...Just installed IP and that file was there. I just moved to another folder just in case for the time being. So far no problems. Is there another build in progress for IP that is more stable?

I have checked both the standalone IP installers and the ones on SDC, iprepair.dll is no longer being included, though you may have it from a previous install.

I will see about making an update to specifically remove it. This will also work:

Start / Run / cmd.exe

regsvr32 /u "C:\program files\stardock\object desktop\iconpackager\iprepair.dll"

Reboot and the dll will no longer be locked (or loading) and can be removed if desired.

so "regsvr32/me" " C:\program files\stardock\object desktop\iconpackager\iprepair.dll"

and that's it?

or should I just stick with 2.5?

regsvr32 /u...not "me"....not sure why you had that in there. And yes...that should do it. And you can always go into the file to make sure its gone as well.

After unregistering it, you would need to reboot to make sure it's cleared. And that you could delete it. But, if it unregistered, it'll not load on reboot, so it's, as they say, "mostly harmless".

The IP update today will remove the regkey for that file, same as unregistering it. Still needs a reboot to take effect.

There is a new update going out this week to fix the problems some users have been having with iprepair.dll.
