Iconpackager conflicts with Visual Studio

Hi,

If you have Iconpackager 3.0 or 3.0a installed you can't use visual studio
without de-registering the iprepair.dll

To make this program work:

from the start --> run (or a command prompt) type:
regsvr32 /u iprepair.dll
and all will be good again.

Any chance of this getting fixed anytime soon?

Hi,

Yeah it also won't allow Paint Shop Pro to start.

All I did to fix Visual Studio and PSP was to go into IconPackager Menu to Tools and unchecked the Repair Shell Icons. It is the iprepair.dll that causes this.

I don't know why that would be enabled unless I wanted to repair my shell icons.

It also conflicts with incredimail and Norton 2004....programs will not open...
Now using AVG as antivirus program....think unchecking the repair shell icons will also help me? want to change my desktop icons soooooooooo bad but scared got to the point I wiped out both my drives and did fresh install...thought for sure I had a trojan or something...oh if I only read this before I went through all that.....Anything else causing conflicts?

Directory Opus ( explorer replacement ), Snagit to name but two . I haven't re-installed IP yet so don't know if this is still the case ( I'm not going to re-install either until I'm absolutely sure it's fixed - had to re-install windows to get rid of problems ) .

Windows XP-SP 2 ( all updates ), Dutch
PIV 1.7 GHZ
Radeon 9600,128 MB

Thanks Evorg

I also went into IconPackager Menu to Tools and unchecked the Repair Shell Icons. It took care of problems I was having also.

AVAST
DYMO Label
and other window programs are not open and working.

Thanks again for great heads up.
