In a brief bout with the Dark Side whilst upset about being passed in the standings by Freedom Force, Master Yoda drank a Foster's or three and gazed into the energy field that connects all living things. Strange things he saw there; the present, the past.

Upon his return, he realized the value of this intelligence and instructed his Jedi to carefully note his ramblings; they would be used against any who would dare to threaten the security of the Jedi Republic.

Although Ray the Wanderer has been, and remains, a welcome and mighty ally of the Republic, security leaks are unfortunately unavoidable in any bureaucracy. Moff Tarkin, our director of security, is looking into the leak concerning Ray's background as we speak and should have a report ready within a few years.

Nup - last three games pure evil, in fact. I got sick of not picking up those lovvverly PQ bonuses, so stuff the worms, and the bloody slaves - I don't care what my alignment is! I do rather fancy that black mask you wear, my friend, although I don't think my game averages will allow much shift in alignment now - played too many for occasional shifts to matter in the general scheme of things.

Currently having fun going back over strategies that others have posted over the last month or so. I pushed my own pop/diplo theories up to challenging, and actually won once at painful, but it got too much of a slog. Tried a few med and large games - takes too long and become a chore, although I know this is the way to score big.

I'm going back to my fav small maps (and maybe I'll try tiny) - I've collected strats from Staffa, Sergey, EBZ etc and I think I'll mess around with 'em; need to do something different to generate enthusiasm for playing.

Must keep playing...it takes my mind off the Mighty Blues.... :sniff!: ...oh the humanity....

There had to be a magpie supporter amongst us didn't there!

I can manage maybe 1 game per week tops. Wombie, if you start to tire, just contribute with your stories and have a break! The update will be out soon.

Oh. I thought maybe brids was a collection of magpie supporters. Ya know, like: 'The brids rose as one when Peter Daicos kicked that goal'.

Guys, I am having naming trauma. I want to keep being a dropbear, but should I change my name? I have thought of Brazen Bear; Burden I. Bear; Sly Bear (suggestion of the Pres.) or Black Bear. What do you think?

Wombie: Thank sheep that you are contributing to the War of the Worlds. Me stories aren't really of that scale to be put up there. Keep it up: oh, and I've got a power, but I can always do with several, so I don't mind if I wake up with extra powers.

And I love everyone's contributions. If I don't always comment, it doesn't mean I haven't enjoyed 'em!

Looks a new warrier has joined the ANZACS..

Drop Bear.. what about "Bear All"

Yeah...those bloody Collingwood brids will get ya every time... ;)

Bakka - I saw that newcomer in ANZAC, interestingly he's got games dating back over a month - dunno where he's been hiding. And I also noted Cotal submitted a game on 17/7, so she's still playing....awww, speak to us, girl - come join the FF!

DB: My War of the Worlds stuff is very comic book; I'm just playing it for laughs. I'm actually enjoying it, though; please tell me if you want special powers, I'll do what I can. Of course, everyone feel free to get stuck in with your own stories and don't feel that you have to stick to stuff that appears in my stories (or anyone else's). The story stuff is bonus - just enjoy reading if that's your go.

Not sure about your alter ego, either, Chris - try going with super power(s) you think you can make fun milage out of, and we'll find a name to fit! It's the best thing about the FF concept - just change and freshen up whenever you want! Plot wise, you can always get stuck in a nuclear explosion and mutate into something new!

Take care of yourselves :D

Quick thought Chris: Bad News Bear

It sounds tough, doesn't it? OK, I'll keep thinking..... ;)

I still say you become the Killer Koala and make Drop Bear your devastating special move for smiting the opponents! :)

As for War of the Worlds, there's Yor to the left of you, Yor to the right. Stuck in the middle of Yor! And then the killer droids started coming. But Freedom Force can take out a few pesky droid assassins, being mutants of action and all that. You just got to get to the bottom of the foul conspiracy launched against you.

I wouldn't call Freedom Force dead in the water.

It takes a lot more effort from everyone to recruit as a theme empire because you don't get an automatic hinterland as per regionals.

Have fun as an empire, I'm sure folks will want to join.

Sliterin, why don't you suggest a better name if you are not happy with the current one?
Ray. I did make several suggestions at the time. All of them better than this...in my opinion.

Yes, you certainly did...the Endorphins, the Wandjinas, tribal animal motifs, World Animal Force, you suggested shape-changing animal heros, etc. Since I'm the guilty party who drew the line and stuck us on the board, I have to say that I just tried to sum up what I felt to be the general direction of the discussion at the time, and it certainly seemed to me that Freedom Force met with most interest in and out of ANZAC.

We've been in existence since 16/7 - that's seven days. What were you expecting to happen in that time? We're back to seventh in the Metaverse. No, we haven't recruited anyone new - but no one else has managed much either; most of the player shifts have been between empires.

No blame in that - with the benefit of hindsight I suspect now that the game marketing and interest has peaked, and most of us will have little chance to recruit until the expansion pack comes out, and new players have a reason to look at the game.

The bottom line is that you should play and participate in the way that makes you feel happiest - stay here and play, go back to the ANZACs, maybe create the Wandjinas or the Endorphins and go for it yourself! I think the boards are about being in with a group of like-minded people and having fun, at the end of the day. The worst outcome is not enjoying the game, or the social interaction on the boards. Personally, I'd love you to stay - give it some thought? :)

Whatever.

WTF seemed to have recognition to others, but what exactly does WTF stand for? It made me think of those show wrestlers which is why I had a bad reaction to it. Just did a search and it comes up mainly with the World Taekwondo Federation and WTF Comics. I must be missing something.

There is no way I would hijack 'The Wandjinas' for Galciv. Don't think it would be appreciated if we abused that part of aboriginal culture with stupid stories. It is very regional too.

The 'Endorphins' didn't do it for me.

To be honest, I don't want to rejoin a regional empire.

Just read Wombie's post. Another reason may be that we're not cool enough to hang out with. Oh well. I'll live with it.
