New Object Type - Suggestion

What would be great to have is a combined graphics/text object, which behaves like one unit but where could configure the states of the text and graphic seperately. Would make lifes easier especially with buildung menus or little text/graphic shortcuts.

How about the ability to specify the location of the label text? That would be a simple way to have both.

We had that and it was killed out of nowhere. It was called 'label offset' and was theme-dependent. That's the reason why I ask. Also a label behaves different. You can't click it to have an action. I want the text to share the action of the bitmap.

I agree that what your suggesting would be a good thing. In addition how about exposing properties like z-order, activation, start with, and all of the item type properties to scripting. Also, it would be nice to tie object size and placement to states.

Oh yeah, and have the object make me some coffee.

Is anybody actually interested in what's going on here ?

I am, but I can't do anything about it other than to second that request

good idea. but it does only makes something already possible a little easier. it should be realtivly easy to make an object which behaves like you want, and then use it as a template perhaps (put it on wincustomize )?

I also second having all properties of objects available to script.

Okay, so that sounded like a good idea, so I did it. It's called Hybrid Text Object, in DesktopX Objects (assuming it gets by the gatekeepers )

I will look at it, but I don't think I made clear what I wanted (and it will be like one of my tries to resemble that). You can't make 2 objects have one shortcut for example. You always have to edit both for that.
