Right Click - Configuration disappears

I have configured Right Click on several occasions but unfortunately I seem to need to redo this everytime there is a small probelm with my PC. eg If I close down Right Click for any reason it seems that my 'settings' disappear and I have to start all over again ....... Regretfully I think that the programme really sucks ...... If I am doing something wrong then please tell me. Thank you

eh. i'm so anxious to see what answer you are going to get beause i have the same issue. (amongst others). i'm really wondering about updating/renewing my subscription to object desktop now. with all the ip3 issues, and many programs conflicting more and more on my pc, the complications of reinstalling it all (maybe a solution... all of stardock programs that is!)... it's a pain, eh?

Yeah, it happens every once in a while to me too, and I kept having to redo it all. I saw a thread here a while back to at least make it less painful. Make a copy of Rightclick.ini and desktopbar.obbar. I make a copy in the right click folder and keep a copy in the Stardock folder. Then if you lose the config, just replace those 2 files with your backups. That will usually work, but the reason I keep more than one backup is sometimes there is still a problem and you might have to reboot or even uninstall and reinstall RightClick. I had to do that the last time, but I had my backups, so I got right back to where I started. It's a bit of a pain, but RightClick is one of my most used programs and this way is so much easier than having to redo the config over and over. It takes time to get it the way you want it, and this will get you back pretty easily.

The trick is not to close Right-Click before shutting down or rebooting and always have it running when you update through SDC.
