Boot skin

Hello I just downloaded bootskin, I made a load screen but when I close Bootskin the screen goes back to the drab, bland XP screen. What can I do? Also, In the config file what does it mean by type= ? Please help me, any is appreciated.

Images used for bootskin must be 16 color 4 bit bitmap, size is 640x480, if you use a progress bar must use colors from screen image, must have same palette, size is 22x9, Type=0 (zero).
