Remove by dragging off bar??? DOES NOT WORK!

Can someone explain how to remove an item by dragging it off the bar? It enlarges as you go over it with the mouse, but you cannot grab and drag an icon!

If your using OD+ right click on a tab, click on "View" and make sure that "Lock Icon Dragging" is not checked. Then you should be able to left click and hold, drag onto desktop and release and poof! the item should be gone.

bneidrman,

If you are trying to drag from a normal dock (non-tabbed), right-click the dock and deselect "Drag Locking, or Dragging Lock" (sorry - not at my home machine). Then, use normal drag action, making sure to drag away from dock far enough to delete entry with a "Poof".

If trying to drag from a tabbed dock, the instructions Lantec gave should work "Right-click tab>View>Deselect 'Lock Icon Dragging'". Then, use normal drag action, making sure to drag away from dock far enough to delete entry with a "Poof".

Note - in many cases, you can just right-click the entry and select "Remove entry".

I hope this helps.

I am trying to get rid of the default calendar and nothing drags at all. The mouse simply does not drag the icon anywhere. The calendar icon bounces for a second and that is it.

If you can't drag the calendar off the dock, then you still haven't turned off "Lock Dragging"

Follow Corky's instructions and you'll be set........ (just substitute Drag Locking, with Lock Dragging)....

I spoke with tech support. Believe me, Lock Draggin was turned off. There is something incompatible with my system and I am getting a refund. Even the freeware version locked my computer up several times, did not drag either and half the time would not even show up on the desktop even though it was in my processes.

Thats the same w/ me. I had it working nicely, then I bought and downloaded Object Desktop. I think after I installed the update in Stardock Central it stopped working. It shows in Tsk Mgr but not my desktop.

Bneiderman, if you had the same problem as me, where Object Dock was running in proccessess and not showing up, disable everything in WindowFX.

I began having problems after updating SD Central. I was using the OD free version, and after updating, got a C++ compiler error. I had also done some M$ security updates; so, I went ahead and purchased the OD+. OD+ runs, but I cannot move objects on the bar by dragging or delete by dragging.

Here's my config:
XP SP2 5.1 (Build 2600)
AMD Athlon 3400+
1 GB RAM
1280 x 1024 in 32-Bit Color, ALL-IN-WONDER RADEON 7500 Ver. 6.14
A M I - 5000503 BIOS Date: 05/03/05 13:52:41 Ver: 08.00.09 BIOS Date: 05/03/05

redjag... Your may be able to solve your problem by removing everything in this folder "C:\Documents and Settings\*USERNAME*\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock\ObjectDockPlus"

We've found potential for the latest beta of IconPackager3 to interfere with ObjectDock, causing ObjectDock to not be able to drag, and in some cases not even start up correctly. This will be fixed in the next IconPackager release, but before that happens I have also worked around the interference in the next upcoming ObjectDock release.

In the mean time, you can try unregistering a helper dll IP3 uses, note it may cause a small degree of handicap within IP3 but both programs will continue to work. You'll need to reinstall IP3 to undo this temporary workaround.

From your run dialog, enter this exact command and press enter:

regsvr32 /u "iprepair.dll"

(if it complains about the not finding the exact path of iprepair.dll, search for it on your harddrive and replace that relative dll path with the full path)

Rebooting is necessary after unregistering the file to have ObjectDock resume correct function.

I was able to fully reproduce this problem, so give that a shot and it should help. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

I was having this same problem after installing the latest (non-beta) Icon Packager 3 release. Some icons had a default icon, and I could not drag them off the dock or drag new ones on. Any attempt to select a new icon, install a new item on the dock, or work with the dock entry properties caused OD to hang. Uninstalling the iprepair.dll has solved the problem for now.
